Question: I cannot afford to get professional help, what else can I do?
Answer: First, don't give up in finding treatment. Many cities and smaller towns have community mental health centers that can provide treatment on a sliding scale basis, and occasionally you can find a place that will give free treatment. Otherwise, there are many things you can do to help yourself starting right now, including relaxation techniques, becoming educated about Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and learning to think about it differently.
