Question: Is Worrying Normal?
Answer: Many people with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) can be characterized as "chronic worriers". Worrying about people places, things, and the future are definitely normal parts of the human experience that give us a lot of information about our lives and make us pay close attention to important happenings. However, for some people with worry becomes uncontrollable, extremely intense, and can interfere with daily functioning. When this is the case it may cross the line into a clinical issue rather than just a normal part of life.
